Register for the PIPL Series

Week One: Privacy and Security Assessments for Processes and Systems

The combination of the PIPL and CSL means that we need to know what data we are collecting, through which processes, and how are we keeping it secure. OneTrust automates this process and dynamically keeps it up to date. Risks and Control requirements are automatically identified and initiates workflow for their implementation and tracking. Knowing what important data you store, any cross border transfers and the effectiveness of your multiple-level protection scheme is now a critical requirement. OneTrust can show you how.

Week Two: Consent Management for the Collection of Personal Data

The PIPL has more detailed requirements than the GDPR regarding Consent Management. These extra requirements relate to what you want to do with the Personal Data. For example, if you want to transfer the data to a third party or send outside of China. OneTrust’s ability to track multi-level consents using Purpose, Topics, Custom and Data Elements provides the capability to collect consent and provide transparent customer management of their preferences. OneTrust can show you how.

Week Three: Effective Management for the Five PIPL Data Subject Rights

By knowing the personal data we are collecting, from whom and with what consent we are in a very good position to manage the five PIPL Data Subject Rights. OneTrust provides an end to end configurable workflow to manage all steps from customer requests to data actions: share, update, delete, restrict. These interactions with customers are done via an encrypted secure portal. Because PIPL Data Subject Rights includes any data that has been shared with third parties a total data map is required to be able to meet these requirements. OneTrust can show you how.

Week Four: Managing & Responding to Data Breaches Under PIPL

When a Data Breach occurs we need to quickly understand what data, systems, processes and customers are impacted. Because OneTrust dynamically builds relationships data collection, source, process, access, storage and archival it is now possible to rapidly identify the impact and potential ramifications. From here OneTrust provides an Incident Management workflow from identification through rectification and ongoing management. This includes all necessary reporting. OneTrust can show you how.
